SOTC Motorsports allows our members to test the limits of their vehicles and their driving skills. Members participate in Autocross, Winter Autocross, Track Sprint, Rallycross, Track Days, and Off-Roading.
Autocross
Autocross uses traffic cones to make a mini road course in a parking lot for competitors to navigate and achieve the fastest time. While the overall speed may be a little slower than on a race track, the racing is more intense due to the tightness of the course and the shortened intervals before corners.
SOTC Motorsports competes in Autocross events at Road America, Subiefest Midwest, FL4TFest, and the Subaru Challenge.
Winter Autocross
Snow, ice, slush, wet and dry tarmac is what makes Winter Autocross so challenging and exciting. Every run is different, as competitors change the racing surface with each pass.
The Road America Winter Autocross Series is a favorite for SOTC Motorsports. Eric Jancsovics captured 3rd in the RWD class in 2023 and 2022. In the AWD class, Eddie Groberski secured 3rd place in 2022 and 2nd place in 2021.
TrackSprint
TrackSprint is often referred to as “High-Speed Autocross” and uses 2/3’s of a race track for each run. The remaining 1/3 of the track allows for a cool down period before getting back into grid for the next run.
This form of racing is considered the bridge between autocross and Time Trials and is a great way to get more seat time on the big track.
Rally Cross
Rally Cross is “Autocross in the Dirt” and a perfect fit for the Subaru AWD System.
The racing surface is dirt, grass, and occasionally small patches of tarmac and offers drivers a chance to slide their vehicles to set up for the next corner.
Track Days
Track days offer chances for SOTC Motorsports to get longer sessions on the race track. Typical racing sessions are 20 minutes long and offer the chance to be on the track with other cars.
Passing is allowed in certain sections of the track, but passing cars need to receive a point by before making a pass. This helps keep everyone safe and pointing the right direction.
Off-Roading
Off-Roading allows the driver to venture out on the trail and discover the road less traveled.
The “Best Subaru is a Dirty Subaru” for these guys and gals and they love hitting the trails, setting up a base camp for lunch, and then getting back out on the trail.
